Senior Product Manager, Payments

About the Role:

The Product Manager for Payments represents the lifeblood for growth for SVB, improving the Payments process and experience and differentiating our digital capabilities from our competition. This role is responsible for driving a significant aspect of our digital transformation strategy. The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess a strong product management background in payments including ACH and Wires and has experience managing those products on various platforms, developing roadmap, meeting regulatory requirements and achieving compliance .
  • Demonstrate prior experience in leading changes, migrations and life tie management of payments products in a banking environment.
  • Demonstrate an ability to collaborate with developers and data engineers to define the technology infrastructure and data architecture necessary to deliver a breakthrough Payments experience.

The Product Manager will be responsible for managing core payments products for the Bank as well as on-going management and business readiness of product launches, enhancements, upgrades and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the product roadmap as well as assist in delivering relevant and well-designed solutions to our clients and stakeholders. This role is expected to exercise creativity, critical thinking, relationship building, analytics, and collaboration to solve client problems.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, or other quantitative major that requires structured problem solving
  • Prior experience implementing core and emerging payments (ACH, Wire, P2C, RTP, Zelle) on a payment’s platform is a plus
  • Experience agile pods as a product owner and ability to lead in a cross functional team environment
  • Experience building business case for a product/feature, develop roadmaps, being able to articulate the vision and own the OKRs.
  • 5-7+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in Banking/Financial Services
  • 3-5 year direct knowledge and experience with Payments
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking ability
  • Strong understanding and working experience with design-thinking best practices to deliver industry-defining digital products and experiences
  • Knowledge of Agile routines and experience leading in an Agile environment
