Job Description
Overview: The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for delivering the Procurement vision and strategy by performing strategic sourcing activities, such as negotiations with suppliers on pricing agreements, processing purchase orders, strengthen communication with internal and external stakeholders, supplier performance management, and continuous improvement efforts. They will ensure timely delivery of all materials and services and will serve as backup to the procurement team as needed, and assigned task from Associate Director of Procurement.Responsibilities:
  • Works independently to complete assignments while adhering to and in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, WuXi ATU Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform job specific tasks with high degree of speed and accuracy.
  • Excellent vendor negotiation skills and customer service oriented focus.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals within procurement, purchasing, and accounts payable required.
  • Conducts cost-analysis activities in partnership with internal stakeholders to maintain cost competitiveness in the market
  • Manages day-to-day vendor relationships and ensures timely issue resolution
  • Approves, places and expedites order requests.
  • Consistently interacts with end-users.
  • Runs reports and generates scorecards for vendors.
  • Tracks and reports savings monthly.
  • Manages “Open Order” report.
  • Governs material master changes.
  • Assists with other site-specific purchasing tasks.
  • May be required to assist in other departments.
Qualifications:

Experience / Education

  • 3-5 years of purchasing or relevant experience
  • Associates’ degree in business or related field equivalent experience
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • SAP B1 Experience or equivalent
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Ability to self-prioritize projects
  • Critical thinking and effective problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Need to be able to read, write and understand English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
