Job Description

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

Initiates equipment modifications to increase machine productivity and reduce waste.
Initiates and documents procedures to increase machine productivity and reduce waste.
Assists production personnel with day to day maintenance and quality issues.
Troubleshoots manufacturing operations process problems, including attendance at the daily production meetings to provide input into issues.
Trains machine operators on new equipment installations, equipment modifications and new operating procedures.
Maintains standard operating conditions system which ensures consistent manufacturing equipment processing conditions.
Identifies specifications that routinely causes waste issues and works with R&D and Process Engineers to resolve or update spec.
Monitors productions schedules for upcoming projects and potential problems
Investigates causes of ongoing process, quality, production efficiency and high waste problems. Then develops solutions using problem solving techniques.
Facilitates updates to manufacturing departments on the status of the above-mentioned duties

Decision Making and Analysis: Identify engineering problems, research and evaluate solutions (with coaching from manager). Demonstrates aptitude for conducting useful research, and able to present conclusions and suggestions.
Time Management: Must have strong time management skills to handle multiple ongoing projects in addition to day to day process problems
Solid computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, Share Point, and the ability to quickly learn software needed to perform job specific duties.
Strong knowledge of packaging processes.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

3-5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing plastics a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial)
Professional development classes in the areas of communication, conflict resolution, problem solving skills, statistical process control, advanced uses of software packages, world class manufacturing principles, quality systems, and other related fields.

Physical Demands

Employee will spend 75% of each day on plant floor where frequent exposure to moderate noise levels will occur. While on the floor, the employee will spend 100% of his/her time standing. Potential to be exposed to heights. The other 25% of employee’s day will be spent in a normal office environment where employee will be required to use a computer. Travel to other sites, customers, and suppliers will be required as project assignment necessitate.
