Job Description
PRN CT Tech - Colorado Springs, COCompensation is based on relevant years of experiencePOSITION SUMMARY: To provide high quality patient-focused health care services to all patients within the scope of practice through physician orders in accordance with all Colorado state laws and regulations and company policies. Currently licensed as an ARRT-(R) MRT- in the state of Colorado with CT experience. Follows prescribed techniques for producing general and specific X-rays and CT scans for diagnostic purposes. Serves as point of contact for lab at the ER assigned and assists the physician/provider in carrying out physician/provider delegated orders and tasks regarding labs. Performs special procedures as required in a medical laboratory which may include, but is not limited to, hematology, special chemistry, chemistry, blood bank, microbiology, serology, and urinalysis. Participates in troubleshooting and maintenance of instrumentation, participating in QC and QI for the laboratory, evaluating and providing technical assistance in all areas of the laboratory. Processing reference laboratory specimens and performing computer tasks as related to reference laboratory. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assure that the quality of clinical services is maintained through individual and group supervision with effective communication and promotion of teamwork.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining excellent patient care and customer service.
  • Prepare patient for X-Ray, CT scan, explain procedure to patient and/or family, prepares room, equipment, and materials as needed.
  • Position patient and arrange immobilization and support devices for patient.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to limit exposure to patient and medical staff.
  • Adjust equipment controls, determine proper voltage, and exposure time.
  • Administer routine x-ray exams,
  • Observe patient and machine during procedure. Report unusual occurrences and record patient’s condition.
  • Document patient chart with procedures performed.
  • Clean and disinfect radiology room and equipment, maintain and order supplies for radiology.
  • Perform radiology quality assurance tests and maintain records.
  • Assist with front-end registration staff or additional clerical duties as necessary.
  • Efficient time management skills with ability to anticipate workflow and perform synchronous tasks.

  • Detail oriented with exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • IV skilled.
  • Lab experience a plus.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiology Technology Program.
  • Current Colorado MRT License in good standing
  • Current BLS required, ACLS a plus all through the American Heart Association
  • 1-2 years of Radiology and CT experience, preferably in urgent care and/or emergency medicine (Pay rate 31/hr)
  • Knowledge of specific and OSHA requirements regarding radiological procedures.
  • Ability to work with patients of all ages.
  • Clinical experience performing CT scanning is documented without constant supervision.
  • Ability to assist with specialized procedures involving sterile techniques.
  • Ability to perform intravenous placement as ordered by physician is preferred.
  • Continuing education hours are required to keep up license renewal according to state specific guidelines.
  • Pass background check(s)
  • Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology.
  • Ability to work all shifts including day, evening, weekends, and holiday hours as needed.
  • Basic typing and computer proficiency, preferably experienced with Windows, Microsoft Office, EMR/EPM systems, etc.
