What you’ll be doing.

Work with HQ, Territory and Sub-market Leadership, Legal and State & Governmental Affairs to determine deal points that must be included in agreements with jurisdictions and utilities. Role is focused on delivering innovative solutions to State, Local, and Federal Government agencies that make them more connected to the world. You must understand how technology and services come together to solve business challenges and can explain just how in a way that customers understand. Develop strategies with Leadership that delivers win-win Master Lease Agreements for small cell deployment. Deliver actionable executed MLAs that meet the requirements set forth by management HQ/Area/Regions. Work with developers and Cities to address new small cell business needs as they develop.

  • Having a deep understanding of complex government agencies will drive your success as a trusted adviser that they can rely on to make their operations run better.
  • Negotiate Master Lease Agreements and Right of Way use agreements as applicable with municipalities and utilities in the Mountain Plains sub-market (ID, MT, KS, MO). Sell the Verizon Small Cell Program to municipalities by emphasizing benefit to their community.

  • Utilize existing tools and resources within established Small Cell MLA program to maintain consistency in approach. Understand how complex technology can solve every day business problems.

  • Working with in-house legal, outside counsel, governmental affairs, and other team members, coordinate efforts to streamline the zoning and permitting process for small cells with the jurisdictions and municipalities through wireless code revisions that are consistent with State Legislative efforts.

  • Understand and be able to communicate and secure when possible, unmetered power possibilities for small cells.

  • Facilitate and lead community outreach programs to educate municipalities and neighborhoods of wireless facilities and small cells.

  • Meet with stakeholders in the sub-market to update them on status of your negotiation efforts.

  • Provide support and business case justification needed to gain approval and execution of Master Lease Agreements from management.

  • Provide presentations to stakeholders and management that explain the business terms and issues of agreements after full execution so that they can easily utilize the deliverable to deploy small cells fast.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, executive leadership, clients and key contacts within other departments within Verizon Wireless.

What we’re looking for.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or fouror more years of experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Valid driver's license.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Five or more years of experience negotiating contracts.
  • Five years of experience in external facing projects, negotiations and public speaking.
  • Three or more years in managing Complex projects.
  • Ability to originate, analyze, negotiate, structure, prepare, and present master agreements involving risk analysis.
  • Proven experience in identifying, developing and leveraging relationships with third-party commercial real estate owners, Government Agencies, Utilities, and Agents.
  • Prior leadership experience in a dynamic team environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of land use, right of way, and zoning policies and procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of real estate practices/law, business and financial terms/concepts.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and written skills required in order to effectively deal with governmental authorities and realize competitive lease rates with property/asset owners.
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple tasks and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage external professionals (site acquisition professionals, architects, engineers, land planners, attorneys other consultants) toward fulfillment of common network goals.
