Job Description

Primary Purpose:

This position leverages deep business and/or functional knowledge in leading the planning and execution of programs and service deliverables. Maintains accountability for program implementation along with managing program roadmaps, scope, issue/risk escalation, overall health of the program, stakeholder relationship management, program trends, governance and continuous improvement activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in analyzing rate and rule manuals and able to prepare detailed business requirements and artifacts that will be used by IT (including rate table preparation, form requirements, UI design, and rule definitions) on large programs
  • Early engagement of strategic initiatives, and programs including integrating new products within our current infrastructure
  • Develop program approach and set realistic expectations, manage timelines, scope, and changes.
  • Able to make suggestions for the success of the Program
  • Approves the progress of the project as it relates to the business vision
  • Accountable for completeness of requirements for programs
  • Create and format tables that will be used for new state rollouts and enhancements
  • Build and leverage key stakeholder relationships with Product Managers, Testing and IT
  • Work side by side with IT to determine the best approach for integrating new products that differ from our current structure
  • Create requirements for complex system enhancements including new bridges and interfaces and identifying and mitigating risks to current suite of products
  • Participate in functional testing
  • Lead and participate in requirement walkthrough for programs and enhancements with minimum supervision
  • Assume accountability for the program/project and its delivery with minimum supervision
  • Participate in prioritization of programs and projects and works across boundaries to come up with solutions to competing timelines
  • Anticipates, manages, and resolves issues and risks that are internal and external to the program. Prioritizes issues and documents and tracks resolution at a program level
  • Provides rapid turnaround on issues/concerns and change requests as well as requirement clarifications or interpretation
  • Point of escalation for issues and concerns on Project/Program
  • Assist Testing in issue resolution
  • Key participant in sign-off for project delivery with a focus on quality
  • Ability to maintain program level metrics
  • Identify and implement process improvements based on learnings from prior deliverables
  • Willingness to take full accountability

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • Organized, flexible, detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills
  • Quality driven and results oriented
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment

Desired Skills:

  • 5+ years of Insurance experience
  • Computer knowledge – Excel, Word, Outlook
  • 5+ years in Portfolio/Program/Project Management
