Plant Manager

Indianapolis, US, 46250 Jan 4, 2021 POSITION OVERVIEWdormakaba is seeking a Plant Manager to lead the Operations team at the Indianapolis, IN facility. This position is responsible for overseeing the Manufacturing operations while having ownership of all production & financial deliverables. This role will have multiple Manager level direct reports within the facility and will be responsible for driving financial growth in a facility recently expanded and implementing a new ERP system (SAP), but also process growth with a strong background of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement.
PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Leads day-to-day operations by coordinating and continuously developing plant personnel
  • Effectively operates one of the most technically challenging manufacturing facilities in dormakaba USA
  • Maintains a sound organizational development plan establishing policies to smartly drive retention, attract and develop top talent, management succession, and training for all employees
  • Develops and maintains KPI’s to monitor progress and communicate status, challenges, accomplishments, and opportunities for improvement
  • Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and reports these results to senior management
  • Champions the Environment Health & Safety of the facility
  • Guides and directs the management team to robustly fulfill orders in a low volume, custom order, quick ship (JIT) environment
  • Leverages knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, Kaizen, 5S and other techniques to improve safety, increase quality, enhance delivery, and increase efficiencies to reduce cost
  • Formulates, plans, and drives the efficient and timely manufacture of mechanical & electro-mechanical access control products, and associated product lines
  • Safely & profitably operates the facility and generate favorable cash flow. Favorable cash flow is measured through inventory levels, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Metrics: TCIR, DPMO, On Time Delivery, EBITDA%, Working Capital Turns, DIO

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Industrial Management, Engineering, Business Adminitstration or related disciplines preferred)
  • Master’s Degree (e.g. MBA) preferred
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma Certification Required (Black Belt strongly preferred)
  • 15+ years of strong experience in vertically integrated manufacturing, management, and engineering encompassing all functions of plant operations required
  • Metal Machining Operations (i.e. – Punch Press, Deep Draw, Screw Machines Press, brake, welding, laser, etc) and Finishing / Plating Required
  • Continuous Improvement (Lean/TPS, VSM, Six Sigma, Visual Factory, &/or TQM, etc.) required
  • Strategic Operations Planning: Hoshin Kanri / 3 yr Decision & Delivery Matrix preferred
  • International / Multi-National Business Experience Preferred
