Position Description:

Senior PKI subject matter expert will support a variety of PKI and Identity Management related initiatives, including:

  • Two-factor Logon
  • S. Common Policy
  • Certificate Validation Services for DHS
  • Non Person Entity (NPE) Certificate Authority (CA) and Certificates
  • NPE Certificate Management
  • Monitoring, and Reporting Tools
  • Digital Signature
  • Encryption for Email
  • Derived PIV Credentials for Mobile Devices
  • Digital Certificate Discovery and Reporting

The PKI Subject Matter Expert is responsible for providing a wide range of technical consulting and implementation services to the enterprise including Engineering and Architecture, PKI Enablement of Networks and Applications, and Enterprise Security. The Engineering Team supports Component initiatives and is considered Tier III support for PKI-related issues. Some specific initiatives to further PKI’s scope to secure the DHS environment include Federation Services for user validation (single sign-on); development of Derived-PIV Credentials (enabling PIV Credentials to be used on mobile devices), and implementing Venafi Trust Protection Platform (an insider threat tool used to discover, manage, and report device certificates, their status, and attributes throughout a network.)

The PKI Subject Matter Expert has been involved in several product test and evaluation teams, contributing both as subject matter expert evaluators as well as “hands-on” testers. They have participated in testing and evaluating both new products and enhancements to existing technologies and architectures to include the following manufacturers and platforms: Entrust, XTec, Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services, (ADFS), AirWatch, MobileIron, Good, Axway, SailPoint, Radiant Logic, CyberArk, Xceedium, Venafi, SafeNet, F5 Networks, Citrix, VMWare, Windows Server (2012, 2016) and desktop (Windows 8, 10), Apple, Android, ActivClient, Microsoft SQL, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

  • Support for DHS PKI policy and support services will also be part of this role. Additional responsibilities would include support for:
  • Updating and creating PKI policy and guidance
  • Internal compliance audits
  • General Services Administration (GSA) Federal PKI (FPKI) audit
  • Establishing proper Level of Assurance through active participation in cryptographic key generation ceremonies
  • Certificate request processing, token issuance, and user testing

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

Education and Certifications

  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field, preferred.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in public key infrastructure, identity and access management, and/or cybersecurity.
  • Secret Clearance - Required.
  • Must be able to obtain DHS EOD suitability.

Pay: From $120,000.00 per year
