Job Description

Job Summary


Performs venipuncture and collects other specimens for laboratory testing. Label specimen containers accurately, deliver to proper destination in a timely manner and perform order entry duties as required. Must be able to provide and understand the specific communication, developmental and treatment needs of patients ranging in age from neonate-birth to geriatric. Compliance: understands and complies with the Standards of Behavior and department policies, procedures and regulations.


Job Requirements


Education

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Program.

Experience

  • The skill to draw an average of 7 patients per hour within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Proficient in the use of Lab. Info. Sys. Within the first 90 days of employment.

License/Registration/Certifications

  • Must be ASCP eligible

Location: Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System · Laboratory Administration
Schedule: Per Diem, Days, 4a-8a
