Job Description
High school graduate with one year institutional pharmacy experience. Active registration and in good standing with the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy. To qualify to function in the IV Room, National PTCB certification of state certification with 2 years IV Room experience is required, along with completion of facility specific didactic program/testing and successful competency review.
Must have knowledge of the operation of equipment utilized in a hospital pharmacy. Responsibilities include assisting in preparing and dispensing medications, including parenteral preparations, and pharmaceutical supplies, typing labels, entering prescriptions in the outpatient computer, manually charging type-in medications, preparing and transmitting orders to vendors, maintaining inventory and predetermined levels of stock.
