Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Maintain accurate employee data in payroll system and HRIS, and respond to payroll inquiries
- Prepare payroll related journal entries and reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts
- Resolve payroll tax related issues with payroll provider or 3rd party taxing authorities
- Compile all payroll data including but not limited to garnishments, vacation requests, and payroll deductions
- Interface with timekeepers ensuring accurate and timely submission of hourly employee payroll data
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely according to the deadlines
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management including but not limited to labor distribution and payroll summaries
- Ensure that semi-monthly 401(k) and benefit files are uploaded into payroll system
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of contribution to the company’s 401K plan
- Prepare required documents and reports for annual financial, worker’s compensation, and 401K audits and answer auditor’s inquiries
- Assist HR department as needed
Qualification/requirement:
- Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or one or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Proficient in ADP web based software and payroll processing as well as payroll procedures for multi-state offices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications Excel and Word
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of employees
- Knowledge of payroll practices, principles, regulations, and procedures
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Knowledge of federal and state HR regulations
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems
- Clear written and verbal communications.
