THIS JOB REQUIRES ENLISTMENT IN THE U.S. ARMY

By enlisting into the Army as a Patriot Systems Operator, you become a part of a team of Soldiers. This job has two different specific jobs in this path. As a Soldier you secure your future with a career in the Active Duty Army (full-time) and are able to take advantage of all the benefits that serving in the Army gives you. You gain leadership skills, college credit, and job-security by enlisting into the Army that is hard to find in the civilian sector. This is an entry level position with no experience necessary.

Patriot Fire Control Enhanced Operator/Maintainer: They are responsible for operating and maintaining the five major parts of the Patriot Fire Control system. Radar Set, Engagement Control Station, electronic Power Plant, Antenna Mast Group, and Battle Command Post. They are also responsible for identifying, tracking, and combating those identified threats using a technology advanced interceptor missile that is capable of destroying enemy air threats at a moment’s notice.

Patriot Launching Station Enhanced Operator/Maintainer: The operator-maintainer is responsible for operating and maintaining the Patriot Launching Station, which includes transporting, emplacement, electronic and maintenance. They are also responsible for the transport, preparation and loading of technologically advanced interceptor missiles that ensure the Patriot missile system is capable of tracking, launching, and destroying enemy air threats at a moment’s notice.

Job Duties:

  • Patriot Fire Control Enhanced Operator/Maintainer: Responsible for the movement and placement of the Patriot Fire Control systems in various locations and environments; Operate Patriot Fire Control electronic, hydraulic and mechanical components; operate digital data and communications networks; identify and engage targets electronically; air defense artillery tactics, techniques, procedures and air battle strategy
  • Patriot Launching Station Enhanced Operator/Maintainer: Responsible for the movement and placement of the Patriot Launching Station in various locations and environments; Operate Patriot Launcher Station electronic, hydraulic and mechanical components; perform maintenance on the Patriot Launching Station; transport, prepare, reload and resupply Patriot missiles; establish and maintain digital, radio and wire communications.
  • Attend Basic and Advanced Training (paid)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Age - 17 to 34 years old
  • Education - Current Senior in High School(HS), HS Diploma, GED, GED equivalent, or higher education level completed
  • Associates and Bachelor’s Degrees (in any major or field) guarantee you an advanced promotion upon joining.
  • Citizenship - U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident
  • Submit to background and medical screening
  • Receive a passing score on the ASVAB
  • Patriot Fire Control Enhanced Operator/Maintainer: with a sub-score of 97 in the Mechanical Maintenance category
  • Patriot Launching Station Enhanced Operator/Maintainer: with a sub-score of 92 in the Operators & Food category
  • Sub-score categories will always be displayed as a higher number than the overall ASVAB score

Training:

o Patriot Fire Control Enhanced Operator/Maintainer: 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 20 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and in the field under simulated combat conditions. Some of the skills you’ll learn are: operating the Patriot Radar, and associated target-identification and command and control systems; Maintenance and troubleshooting on electronic, hydraulic and mechanical components; operate digital data and communications networks; identify and engage targets electronically; air defense artillery tactics, techniques, procedures and air battle strategy.

o Patriot Launching Station Enhanced Operator/Maintainer: 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and in the field under simulated combat conditions. Some of the skills you’ll learn are: operating the Patriot Launching station and related missile loading systems; maintenance and troubleshooting on electronic, hydraulic and mechanical components; operate digital data and communication equipment; movement and storage of ammunition; artillery defense artillery tactics, techniques, procedures and air battle strategy
