Summary

The Imaging department at Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled office professional to join its patient scheduling team! We are seeking candidates experienced with customer or patient service, with effective communication skills both written and verbal, and strong computer skills including accurate data entry. This full time position offers a great schedule and exceptional benefits!

Position Summary

  • The Patient Scheduler records Imaging and Cardiopulmonary patient demographic information into the electronic health record system, with the goal of scheduling patients for imaging and cardiopulmonary appointments.
  • The Scheduler verifies patient demographics, insurance information, and medical information over the phone, as well as accuracy of Provider order.
  • The Scheduler effectively communicates information concerning appointment times, departmental schedules, scheduling procedures and the requirements and/or preparations for the exam with Provider, outpatient/inpatient departments and/or patients as needed.
  • This is a full time position. Office hours are typically Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm, with flexibility based on patient and scheduling demands.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • License/Certifications: N/A.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year office experience, including effective use of office technology such as computers and phones. Microsoft operating system, Outlook, and Word experience highly desired.
  • Exceptional customer service/patient service skills.
  • Familiarity with healthcare billing and diagnostic coding.
  • Medical Terminology and experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Record system (EMR) preferred.
  • Keyboarding skills are required, including accurate data entry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems, interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Communicate effectively to customers and peers in both a verbal and written fashion.
