Our 292-bed hospital offers a full range of healthcare services, with specialties in cancer care—through the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute—as well as inpatient rehabilitation (with all private rooms), our ER is a state-authorized level III trauma center and neuroscience, including our first-in-Richmond Gamma Knife Center.


The Central Resource Pool is composed of experienced Registered Nurses, Patient Care Techs, and Nurse Externs who float throughout the facility to all the units within their particular scope of practice. The nursing departments floated to by our Patient Safety Attendants include:
  • Critical Care Units: ICU and Neuroscience ICU
  • Telemetry Units
  • Medical/Surgical Units
  • Orthopedic Joint Replacement Unit
  • Oncology
  • Women’s Health Unit
  • Emergency Department
  • PACU

The Float Pool at Johnston-Willis Hospital is looking for a PRN Patient Safety Attendant! Patient Safety Attendants with our Float Pool have the opportunity to float to different units of the hospital.


The Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) participates in high-quality, patient-centered care by providing continuous observation and monitoring for high risk patients. In collaboration with the patient care team, the PSA ensures the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes risk of falls and accidental or intentional self-harm. The Sitter may also assist with basic activities of daily living. They will also monitor the patient’s physical and emotional condition, reporting any changes in status promptly while remaining direct line of sight with the patient.





Qualifications


EXPERIENCE:
1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.



CERTIFICATIONS
Basic Life Support (BLW) Required upon hire.
De-Escalation Training required within 90 days of hire.

PRN, weekend and holiday requirements
