Part-time Marketing Assistant - Experience Navigator

Hours: Part-time position is scheduled an average of 20 hours per week.

Experience in creating and copying content, editing, and communication are necessary for this position.

My Work

I will be creative when designing, creating and editing visual content and aligning EVPL initiatives, programs, and library brand materials. I will work with the Marketing Team on installations of exhibits or displays. I will work in collaboration with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders to advance the mission of the library by thinking forward. I will bring original ideas to my supervisor and team when assisting in the creating of visual content, such as static and/or video, for social media, EVPL website, and print materials. I will support the completion of marketing projects and requests, including printing, spray mounting, and reviewing digital programs. I will assist in the translation of print and digital content. As an active member in the community, I will always represent the library in a professional manner.

My Positional Role

In cooperation with Library Experience Supervisor and other colleagues, Library Experience Navigators advance the Library’s mission, vision, strategic priorities and brand by:

  • Being a curious and engaged learner
  • Sharing my ideas
  • Creatively designing, creating, and editing visual content
  • Assisting the marketing team with installation of exhibits and displays
  • Collaborating with colleagues to complete marketing projects and requests
  • Assisting in the translation of print and digital content
  • Presenting original ideas to the team in the creating of visual content, such as static and/or video, for social media, EVPL website, and print materials
  • Participating in special projects, or other duties as assigned

What I Need to Know to Be Successful

I need to have an Associate's degree in graphic design or relevant experience. I need to have working knowledge of the Adobe Suite, including but not limited to, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere.

I need a valid driver's license.

What I Need to Know About the Physical Requirements

My work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, frequently requires walking, sitting and using hands to finger, handle or feel and occasionally requires standing, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
