PUBLIC HEALTH, PART-TIME LECTURER POOL
The Kinesiology & Public Health Department in the College of Science and Mathematics at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo is seeking applications for the Public Health part-time lecturer pool. Appointments are available as determined by need during Fall, Winter, and/or Spring quarter of the 2020-21 academic year. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience, and time base.
Responsibilities may include teaching undergraduate Public Health major, and general education courses. Assignments may include a combination of the following:

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Kinesiology and Public Health is a major academic unit within the College of Science and Mathematics. It offers a BS degree in Kinesiology and a BS degree in Public Health to approximately 500 undergraduate students. The Department also offers courses to meet general education requirements and physical activity courses for all Cal Poly students.

- Activity courses in first aid & CPR
- Public Health undergraduate courses such as introduction to public health, epidemiology, drug education, health education for teachers, injury prevention, medical terminology, media & technology in health promotion, public health internship, stress and chronic disease, work-site health promotion.
- Laboratory courses in epidemiology, research methods in public health settings, health promotion program planning, health promotion program evaluation, obesity prevention & treatment, stress and chronic disease.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Master's degree in Public Health, Community Health, Health Education/Promotion, Health Psychology, or related field with relevant experience in a public health setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES/MCHES).
- Preference given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in college teaching and/or relevant experience in a public health setting.
