INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES IN THE LIBERAL ARTS - PART-TIME LECTURER POOL. Interdisciplinary Studies in the Liberal Arts (ISLA) at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers. Positions are available as determined by need and funding during the Fall, Winter, and/or Spring quarters of the 2020-2021 academic year, which begins September 10, 2020. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience and time base. ISLA offers classes in a wide variety of subjects. Possible courses include: Introduction to Interdisciplinary Studies; Introduction to Science, Technology & Society; Introduction to Media Art & Technologies; Values & Technology; Topics and Issues in Values, Media and Culture; Media Art & Technologies: Storytelling; Media Art & Technologies: Cinematic Processes; and Interdisciplinary Research Methods.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Masters degree in a relevant liberal arts or other relevant discipline and previous college-level teaching experience are required to teach all courses.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. or terminal degree preferred.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may result in the withdrawal of the offer of employment. Interdisciplinary Studies in the Liberal Arts (ISLA) offers interdisciplinary classes to support a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies as well as four interdisciplinary minors: Ethics, Public Policy, Science & Technology; Gender, Race, Culture, Science & Technology; Media Arts, Society & Technology; and Science and Risk Communication. Many ISLA courses satisfy university general education and breadth requirements.
