Housekeeper Job Description

ServiceMaster Twin Cities is seeking a dedicated and professional housekeeper to join our growing company. You will perform a variety of housekeeping duties including vacuuming, mopping, surface cleaning, dusting, changing and laundering linen. Attention to detail and some customer assistance and service are required. The right person is punctual, thorough but fast, and eager to learn.

Housekeeper Responsibilities:

  • Maintain all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products; ensure safe and sanitary storage and care of products in designated area
  • Perform general sweeping, scrubbing, mopping of hardwood, laminate, or tiled floors
  • In charge of vacuuming equipment; vacuums and cleans carpets, performs further treatments such as spot treatment or stain-removal as needed
  • Perform floor buffing/burnishing
  • Disposal of trash from bins and containers in the appropriate dumpster
    • Insert liners and spot clean and sanitize container
  • Dust furniture, counters, and room accessories as needed
  • Low dust all horizontal surfaces, including shelves, molding, ledges, sills, picture frames, ducts and radiators
  • Spot clean desktops
  • Dust and sanitize telephones
  • Dust and sanitize drinking fountains
  • Clean and sanitize sinks, basins, bathtubs, showers, and toilets in private and public bathrooms
  • Spot clean walls, doors and partitions
  • Change of linens, and gather used linens such as sheets or towels for laundering
  • Clean windows, glass surfaces, mirrors, and counters
  • Restocking of all dispensers to normal limits-napkins, cups, soap, tissue, towels, liners, and toilet seat covers
  • Keep all public spaces neat and tidy
  • Clean trash and debris from parking lots as needed
  • Comply with safety and security policies including the use of personal protection equipment as necessary
  • Report repairs and replacements needed when encountered on job
  • Other duties may be assigned based on business needs

Housekeeper Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience; or knowledge, skills, and mental ability equivalent to 2 years of high school education
  • Traveling to and from client locations is required
  • Physically able to carry a backpack vacuum cleaner (up to 20lbs) for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
