Job Opening: Full Time Enrollment Director for BlueStamp Engineering

About The Company:

BlueStamp Engineering (BSE) is a multi week summer program where high school students individually build engineering projects. BSE offers both a 6 week in person program in Palo Alto, San Francisco, and NYC, as well as a 3-week remote program which can be attended from anywhere in the world. Accepted students select and build a project of interest (e.g. prosthetic hands, solar powered electronics, autonomous robots, GPS devices, mini wind turbines, etc.) with a motto of "learning by doing." BSE students and founders have been featured on Cable TV, TEDx, and on the Embedded podcast.

Students go through the entire process of building and testing their devices while supporting their work with full documentation published online and presenting their work at a demo night. Projects have a wide degree of difficulty, from electronics kits to customized designs. Please visit our student page to see what previous students have built. For detailed information about the program, please visit http://www.bluestampengineering.com

Open Position – City Director:

BlueStamp, LLC is looking for an entrepreneurial, motivated, kind, tech-savvy, and highly organized person to join our staff as the enrollment director. Given the current pandemic, the position will be remote but the applicant must be able to work normal U.S. hours. Overall, this is a full time role, however, similar to a teacher’s schedule it will be heavier during enrollment and program periods and lighter during off season months. While the exact hours will vary from week to week, the following schedule outlines general expectations:

January - May: ~40-50 hours/week

June - August: 40-50 hours/week.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Enrollment and PR. The Director will be responsible for driving enrollment growth and PR efforts during the application period (January-June). Specific tasks include:

The director will oversee either all 1) remote operations (depending on the home base of the director and/or if we can not run an in person program) or 2) the San Francisco / Palo Alto locations or NYC location of BlueStamp engineering (again depending on the directors home base / willingness to relocate/travel). Specific tasks include:
  • Working with students and parents to ensure each student has a great experience. This includes:

i. Keeping students and staff safe.

ii. Inspiring and exciting the students about their project, engineering, and entrepreneurship.

iii. Working with students to complete their project and their website.

  • Managing a staff of 9-15 at the local location(s).
  • Work with students, staff, and parents to select projects and get materials and tools ordered in advance of the program’s start.
  • Coordinate guest speakers.

  • If running in the in person program, coordinate a 2-day staff training for all local staff and 1-day room setup day for each location. If running the remote program, coordinate a 1-2 day staff training remotely.
  • Manage the Year-Round Program. Intermittently throughout the year, BSE runs a ~1 hour/day remote session ( ~5 hours / week when running) called “Projects With Friends”.
  • Attend a portion of the daily 1 hour program to ensure a high quality experience.
  • Coordinate enrollment and instructor placement for students signing up for the program.
  • Generate a post program survey and follow-up to establish a roster of lessons learned.
  • Work with instructor to ensure all project kits are ordered, assembled, selected and delivered to students in advance of the program.
