Job Description

First State Insurance is looking for an experienced bookkeeper to work on a part-time contract basis for the Agency. The selected bookkeeper would be responsible for completion of weekly, monthly and quarterly tasks but could complete those tasks outside of normal Agency working hours. Time commitment for this position would average 15 to 20 hours in a week.


Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Writing Disbursement Checks
  • Billing Accounts Payable
  • Performing Accounts Receivable Aging
  • Reconcilement of Agency's monthly Checking Account Statements
  • Creation of Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial Statements

The viable candidate will have the following:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum Associates degree in Accounting or Business with an Accounting emphasis
  • Certified in the use of Intuit QuickBooks
  • Demonstrated background in performing bookkeeping services for business (we will require references)
  • Fully functioning home/remote office to perform all duties requested of this position
