POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, the Maintenance Painter, paints and redecorates walls, wood work, and fixtures. This position requires practical skill and knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications. This position requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience
TYPICAL DUTIES:

1. *Paints walls, wood work, metal, and fixtures.
2. *Prepares surface for painting by removing old finish, pressure washing, sanding, or by replacing putty, caulk, or filler in nail holes and interstices.
3. *Applies paint with spray gun, roller, or brush, and utilizes rollers over brush paint
4. *Applies textures including stucco.
5. *Applies and finishes drywall mudding compound and gypsum tape to gypsum board before painting.
6. *Where required, mixes colors, oils, and other paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency.
7. *Maintains tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
8. *Documents work completed.
9. *Complies with PRIDE’s safety program and adheres to proper safety practices
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:
  • Three (3) years progressively responsible experience, typically acquired through on-the-job training or through a formal apprenticeship training program, or equivalent training and experience.
  • May be required to pass cardiopulmonary fitness test for respirator use.
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment common to the Painter’s trade.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel to various facilities.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests, and escalate the more difficult matters appropriately.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED
CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED:
The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:
Valid Driver's License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:

  • Maintaining an upright position while moving
  • Bending and stooping
  • Climbing a ladder
  • Working at heights exceeding 50 feet
  • Lifting or moving tools, equipment, or materials up to 50 pounds
  • Breathing through a respirator

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed at a customer’s location in office, shop, warehouse, or outdoor environment. Employees may be required to work in confined spaces. Painters may also be exposed to toxic substances where it is required to wear a respiratory mask which fits snug and close to the face. There is also a risk of exposure to hazardous equipment, noise from work environment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat.
