REPORTS TO: The Outdoor Yard Laborer will report to the Operations Manager
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time – 40 hours/week
WORK SCHEDULE: During the following hours of operation:
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Saturday as needed

JOB OVERVIEW:Scrap Metal yard located in Buffalo, NY seeks a general laborer to handle day to day physical tasks in year round weather: These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Cleaning and preparing job site in a tidy and safe manner
• Removing auto parts and fluids such as gas or oil from vehicles
• Using a variety of tools and machines: blowtorches, forklifts, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment.
• Sort and process scrap metal according to grade and size

SKILL SET:

• Quick learner who can follow directions
• Good communication skills
• Clearly and respectfully communicate with supervisors and co-workers, team player
• Timeliness, organizational skills, and multi-tasker

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to work assigned schedule
• Must be able to perform a variety of task in all kinds of weather/seasons
• Physical job- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
• Will be required to wear proper PPE (steel-toed boots, hard hats, safety glasses)
• Metals knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous a plus!

EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE:

• Bobcat, forklifts, loaders

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to work
• Prior to hire- must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, drug test, and criminal background check
