Job Description

OTS/AWOTS Rotating Junior

NASA Wallops Flight Facility

Wallops Island, VA 23337

  • Operate and maintain various types of telemetry equipment

including parabolic antennas, RF receivers, demodulators, bit synchronizers,

and recording devices and ancillary interfaces.

  • Qualified operator of several local data acquisition antenna systems, including the 11 meter, LEO-T, and VHF antennas.
  • Qualified remote operator of several external data acquisition systems including the McMurdo, White Sands, Kennedy Uplink Station, Ponce DeLeon, and Bermuda tracking station.
  • Capable of electronic soldering and cable assembly.
  • Apply technical knowledge to accomplish fault isolation and

maintenance of systems.

  • Ability to interpret schematics and system drawings.
  • Use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital volt meters,

power meters and signal generators.

  • Maintain up-to-date logs and preventative maintenance schedules;

perform corrective maintenance as required. May include climbing antenna

systems and lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Safety and quality awareness and compliance are essential.
  • Duties performed under direct supervision of higher-level technicians (OTS Senior & Site Leader).
  • Ensure Company and NASA procedures and policies are followed.
