Urgently Ortho offers immediately accessible consultation services for any acute or chronic musculoskeletal injury with an orthopedic specialist seven days a week, with convenient hours during evenings and weekends. We treat a wide range of patients from ages 2 and up. Our facility offers onsite x-ray, definitive fracture care with casting/splinting, and onsite durable medical equipment. Beyond initial evaluations, we offer full orthopedic clinical follow-up for continuity of care, including definitive surgical intervention. We are a new startup in the healthcare space. As we add to our growing team we are looking for a Physician Assistant with significant orthopedic experience that is looking to join a small, dynamic business. Urgently Ortho is perfectly positioned to scale and we plan to add our second location this coming year in 2020. We are looking for like-minded individuals to get in on the ground floor. The Job
At Urgently Ortho the Physician Assistant will provide high quality, efficient, team-based patient-focused care under the direction of a supervising physician. Responsibilities will include seeing and managing patient care in the office. We are currently open Monday - Friday from 10am - 6pm with no weekends. There will be no on-call responsibilities and minimal first assist responsibilities in the operating room. This will be a clinic-based outpatient position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Obtains history of present illness, performs a comprehensive physical examination, compiles relevant past medical health history, diagnosis of injury and comprehensive treatment plan.
  • Orders diagnostic tests, such as in-office X-Ray studies, MRI and CT scans, and laboratory tests. Interprets test results for deviations from normal.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, suturing, and wound care.
  • Performs appropriate splinting, casting, and/or dispersal of durable medical equipment.
  • Develops and implements patient management plans, documents progress notes, and assists in the provision of continuity of care.
  • Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, use and care of durable medical equipment, health maintenance, and other relevant patient education.
  • Participates and leads injury prevention seminars at local athletic facilities. Participates in marketing and promotional events in the community.

What You Need!
Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years working in orthopedics
  • Education: Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program.
  • License, Certification, Registration:
  • NCCPA certified at the time of hire and maintained throughout employment
  • California State Physician Assistant License, issued by Physician Assistant Board under Medical Board of California by date of hire.
  • BLS certification
  • Must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI), or obtain an NPI, prior to employment start date and meet current Medicare requirements for billing.
  • DEA License

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $130,000.00 per year
