Position Summary

Progressive Oral Surgery is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Oral Surgery Assistant. We provide quality care to patients, with a focus on developing lasting, trusted relationships between patients and staff. As an Oral Surgery Assistant, you will assist with pre-surgical care and education, vital tasks during surgeries, and post-surgical care. During surgeries, you may monitor vital signs and anesthesiology equipment, provide chairside assistance to the surgeon, and sterilize and store instruments after use. You may also perform other clerical tasks as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and perform pre-surgical preparations
  • Assist the oral surgeon during surgery, providing suction, monitoring instruments, and swapping tools as necessary
  • Provide post-operative instruction to patients regarding healing and care
  • Operate x-ray equipment
  • Disinfect, sterilize, and store equipment after use

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 2-3 years assisting experience required, preferably in an oral surgery environment
  • All relevant state licensure
  • CPR and X-ray certification
  • Strong communications skills and a calm demeanor in stressful situations
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Dexterity
  • Listening skills
