Optical QA Technician

This position is responsible for quality assurance for optical products.

The Optical QA Technician assists in the development of new processes and works with various current processes on all optical products

They also support various ad hoc process improvement teams, focusing on improving product yield and reducing manufacturing cycle time.

They work with technical resources and cell leads to develop tooling.

They also interface with the sales, marketing, thin-film coating, purchasing departments and others on a routine basis to provide information for quotations.

Two-year degree in manufacturing, engineering, or physical sciences required

Minimum five years of experience in QA in manufacturing for more than 10 years of related manufacturing experience.

High school diploma coupled with a strong math background and 10 or more years in similar roles may also be sufficient

Knowledge of precision optics manufacturing and fabrication techniques

Working knowledge of military specifications for optical products

Ability to assist in developing new processes in an abbreviated time frame

Knowledge of optical inspection, measurement, and verification equipment including profilometers, interferometers, calipers, microscopes, measurescopes, drop gauges, and optics cleaning and handling

Proactive approach to defining problems and implementing solutions

Good writing skills for reporting and documentation

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
