Job Description
Responsible for monitoring sales tax emails daily. Responsible for validating exemption certificates and updating all new and current customer records. Responsible for hourly review and accurate release of exemption requests for orders on hold related to sales tax. Various duties related to Sales and Use Tax.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Input of new tax certificates following review by Sales Tax Specialist or Supervisor. Verify documents are filed in the proper shared drive, including verifications. Confirm customer’s maintenance is updated accurately.
  • Review updated tax documents received by email from existing customers. Verify accuracy and update maintenance and open orders as needed.
  • Update customer ship-to-maintenance with updated tax information – including review open orders (SPE) for possible corrections.
  • Email customers to get updated tax information for exemption certificates
  • Review and make adjustments to orders: verifying tax, making corrections as needed before release.
  • Review pre-invoice confirmation report daily and make all tax corrections before invoicing. Resolve all Orders pending customer response within five business days.
  • Responsible for speaking with both internal and external sales staff and customers via phone and/or email as needed for various tax-related questions. Making appropriate notes in Prelude and CertCapture and/or customer maintenance.
  • Assist in gathering reports and tax certificates for all sales tax audits. Assisting auditors when necessary.
  • Update and maintain tax desk procedures
  • Additional job functions may be added and/or re-assigned as workload dictates
