Purpose/Scope of Role: The Regional Director On-Premise is responsible for the development, alignment, and communication of market-level on-premise strategy and plans to support the overall Annual Operating Plan within the defined geography. This position works cross-functionally across Diageo sales, finance, activation, national accounts, and the distributor/broker to build and execute market level strategies within our customers. This person will also be responsible for personally calling on selected top on-premise accounts within their remit. This role requires a high level of strategic capability and influencing at all levels of the organization.

This person leads, manages and coaches the On-Premise Managers within their respective region to ensure achievement of annual channel plans.

Role, Key Deliverables:

Role, Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and Lead Diageo’s on-premise plan for spirits in specified geographies in conjunction with the Diageo VP Business Performance and local distributor teams

  • Accountable for actively identifying and communicating gaps/opportunities of the channel plan to their respective Diageo VP of Business Performance.

  • Work cross functionally to assist in the local allocation of resources, such as trade, A&P, and incremental spending

  • Drive connectivity between distributor, national accounts & channel team to align overall goals and programming plans

  • Collaborate with central on-premise Strategy and Marketing Directors for any regional needs and opportunities, and act as the overall region field expert to the central on-premise team

  • Accountable for key must win account relationships in region

  • First point of contact for any issues/challenges/opportunities at the market level

  • Communicates all channel programming/initiatives to local teams to ensure understanding & gain feedback

  • Responsible for all tracking of regional programming, including setting program Key Performance Indicators, data analysis and measuring Return on Investment

  • Sets the execution expectations and communicates performance against goals

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • College graduate with 10+ years of relevant experience within distributor management, market strategy and plan execution performance

  • Experience working across a diverse beverage alcohol distributor network preferred (Open, Control and Franchise states)

  • Direct on-premise/customer experience preferred

  • Expected to be extremely self-motivated and goal-oriented

  • Heavy influencing skills at senior levels

  • Proven management of multiple stakeholders

  • Strong organizational, communication and influencing skills are required

  • Proven success influencing and developing customer/market strategies and execution plans

  • Proven experience working effectively within a matrix organization required
