Job Description

Monday through Friday between 8am-5pm
Schedule varies depending on student’s preference.

This position works 5-20 hours per week.

Purpose of Role:
Under the supervision of the Office of International Student Services (OISE), the student assistant will primarily support and serve international students.



Specific Duties
    Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greet and service international students
  • Create and update weekly/monthly reports
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate service programs/events
  • Facilitate workshops and follow up sessions
  • Collect data for assessment purposes
  • Manage databases and software programs
  • Assist with OISE social media
  • Support International Advisors and International office as needed

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Email and social media experience
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Experience in developing and facilitating presentations

Preferred Qualifications
Benefits Summary

Employees are eligible for the following benefits:

One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.

University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan – can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.

In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
