You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Coordinates the daily operations of the residency, transition and international nurse programs under the direct supervision of the Director of Organizational Development and Education Department.
  • Supports nursing Directors, Managers, Assistant Nurse Managers [ANMs], Preceptors and program nurses to ensure a smooth and effective educational environment. Also supports the new nurse specific to their unit-based educational activities and skills competency.
  • Comprehends training program regulations according to the appropriate accrediting body and integrates those requirements, such as, specifically, Infection Prevention standards and best practice interventions; and for example other content such as Self-care Concepts; Managing Airways and content critical to the first / novice year of proactive) into the daily and monthly activities of the program. Requirements include monitoring resident compliance with academic requirements, compiling and submitting benchmark and progress reports.
  • Supports applicant interviewing process and match, including daily monitoring of the downloads from the TALEO electronic application service and/or other web sources, reviewing and screening applicants, coordination of interview schedules, producing reports on applicant interviews and scoring, and coordination of the program rank meeting and match day activates.
  • Collaborates with nursing leadership to coordinate and support resident rotation schedules, evaluations, annual training requirements and portfolios in data entry systems as required by the accrediting body, the Program and AdventHealth.
  • Assists Director, Organizational Development and Education with the development and input of program documents such as the PIF, updates, curriculum vitas, curriculum, etc.
  • Supports Director in all programmatic activities such as scheduling resident, exams, and course schedules for program requirements.
Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse
  • Bachelor’s in Nursing degree
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Ability to provide leadership, direction and solve complex problems

  • Verbal and written communication skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Master’s or DNP in Nursing, Nursing Administration and Leadership, or Nursing Education or comparable education
  • Coordination and/or Management level experience
  • Two – three years of acute care or clinical experience

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Nursing Professional Development or Nurse Educator specialty certification

Job Summary:

The Nurse Residency Coordinator has responsibilities for the Nurse Residency Program at AdventHealth Ocala. The Nurse Residency Coordinator will also oversee and manage the Transition Nurse Programs, and the international nurse new-hires. The focus is on the daily requirements of these programs including the management of compliance with accreditation requirements, supporting program recruitment, management of resident needs and assisting with preceptor selection and orientation schedules, monthly lectures for the 12-month series, and any unit / departmental recognition and celebration activities. This position is responsible for supporting during the recruiting, interviewing, on-boarding and weekly rounding with nurses and leaders while in the designated time-frame of all programs.
