Job Description
Responsibilities

The Department of Neurological Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center invites applications for a full-time Assistant, Associate Professor, or Professor (non-tenure track) faculty position. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. The new faculty member will provide both neurosurgical (spine and brain) and neuroendovascular services. The primary practice location is at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, with privileges at UT Southwestern William P. Clements, Jr., University Hospital. The position will involve teaching neurosurgery residents. Clinical research interests are welcomed.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and applicable credentialing and privileging standards for neurosurgery.
  • Fellowship training in neuroendovascular surgery.
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas (or the ability to obtain Texas licensure prior to appointment).
  • Demonstrated leadership and excellence in the clinical, education, service and community outreach missions of UTSW.
  • Demonstrated excellence in mentoring, evaluation, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to excellence. Must possess tenacity, self-motivation and initiative necessary to drive the establishment, development, maintenance and growth of this emerging community-based practice.
  • Academically qualified for regular faculty appointment in neurosurgery at UT Southwestern Medical School.
