Needed - Medical Laboratory Manager

This position is responsible for the technical operations and overall management of the laboratory section. Technical operations include all laboratory procedures and technical performance of all laboratory personnel and are performed under the direction of the Laboratory Medical Director. Management includes staff supervision and assignments and compliance with Hospital policies and procedures and any other area as directed by the Administration Office and/or the Laboratory Director. Provides patient care/services for all stages of the lifespan including pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

Education:

Baccalaureate Degree and graduation from an accredited School of Medical Technology or the appropriate education and training as defined by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment of 1988. Additional management education preferred.

Experience:

Five years of laboratory experience.

Experience in which supervisory skills have been demonstrated.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:

State of Tennessee License as a Medical Laboratory Supervisor.

Physical Demands:

Physical ability to perform basic laboratory procedures.

Ability to use telephone and computer terminal.

Walking, standing, sitting throughout day.

Lifting weights up to 25 pounds.
