Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Provides support to management to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the retail mortgage loan department.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT
Retail Mortgage Loan Operations Group Administrative Responsibilities:


  • Checks in and follows up on closing packages to confirm they are returned in a timely manner.
  • Examines closing package documentation for accuracy, completeness and properly executed signatures.
  • Follows-up on documents required by investors.
  • Prepares assignments, maintains filing and delivery of final documents to custodians and completes final certification of pools.
  • Meets all deadlines on secondary market loans needing final certification as well as portfolio loans, researching and clearing all final documents.
  • Maintains reports based on funded loans, outstanding final documents, and loans sold on the secondary market requiring final certification.
  • Timely completion of pools and delivery of loan files based on investor guidelines.
  • Processes mail delivered in person and via electronic mail to clear post-closing exceptions.
  • Communicates and monitors changes announced by investors in relation to secondary market final document and certifications.
  • Updates and upgrades existing reports to enhance the performance and productivity upon request.
  • Completes all compliance training related to the position.
  • Understands all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and complies with the requirements.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the efficient operations of the department by maintaining confidential and general files, scheduling daily tasks and performing necessary clerical duties relevant to the assigned area.
  • Completes assigned reports and/or projects in a timely and efficient manner by compiling information and preparing it in final format.
  • Serves as back-up to the reception desk.
  • Completes assigned compliance training related to the position.
  • Must understand all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and complies with the requirements.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs all other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
  • One (1) to three (3) years of mortgage experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with spreadsheets e.g., Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED required.
