Job Description

Position Summary:

This position repairs a variety of complex plant machinery and equipment. Dismantles machines, troubleshoots and identifies problem areas and recommends repairs. Uses complex mechanical, electrical and hydraulic schematics to aid in quick repair of machinery. May need to provide instruction to others as how to repair and maintain equipment. Performs the installation of new equipment or relocation of equipment as well as infrastructure and plant support system as needed. Performs maintenance as required or scheduled on all production and accessory equipment. Trouble shoots mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems on injection molding machines as well as related support equipment, including automation equipment. This is all accomplished by using Safety Best Practices first.


Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

  • To always work with a safety 1st no compromise attitude.
  • To keep all machines GFS and OSHA compliant at all times.
  • To troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and provide their repair.
  • To perform preventive maintenance on a variety of injection molding machines and any support equipment.
  • To overhaul injection molding presses and any support equipment.
  • To attend all operator or maintenance training courses.
  • To assure all injection molding presses are running at optimum speed and in pristine condition at all times.
  • To keep spares parts count accurate by filling out any and all paperwork that’s needed.
  • To clean up work area after completion of each job. (Follow the clean as you go policy)
  • To be available to support mold department when needed.
  • To Be on call for Mold department as needed.
  • To follow and police all GMP policy and procedures.
  • To follow all Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • To follow all LOTO policy and procedures. 1. To overhaul injection molding machines and support equipment.
  • To provide weekend and after hour work coverage mold department when needed.
  • To assist in training of maintenance mechanic trainees.
  • To perform any duty as deemed necessary by Supervisor or Manager.
  • To work overtime as required. Weekend work should be expected.
  • To work with contractors and monitor their work for compliance with safety and GFS.


Candidate Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; prefer technical schooling or college a plus.
  • Maintenance Experience in a manufacturing plant…Injection Molding plus.
  • Needs to have good mechanic, electrical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Need to be a very good listener and a quick learner.
