Job Description

This position is responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance work in the Dynamic and Static available time periods, setting work priority, developing detailed job plans, Matching Job plans to Mechanic capabilities, ensuring part kitting and work order part availability is accurate and adequate. This position assigns Work Order Planning and PM’s to appropriate hourly maintenance staff. This position requires equipment-related expertise; technical guidance on improving maintenance activities. This position is responsible for all the detailed data in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) at the Maintenance Level. This position will be responsible for the accuracy, management, and direction in controlling dollars spent in multiple the Maintenance Inventory Storerooms.

  • Plans all maintenance with special attention to regulatory requirements that may apply, e.g. OSHA rules, EPA regulations, USDA requirements, state and local environmental regulations.
  • Ensures all safety requirements are clearly defined in all maintenance planning.
  • Develops and maintains planned and predictive maintenance procedures and routes as required.
  • Ensures in advance, by running reports and inventory tracking, the availability of all materials and tools necessary to complete planned tasks.
  • Prioritizes all planned work orders.
  • Trains maintenance personnel in proper maintenance reporting procedures for out-of-specification findings, and in the use of CMMS software as a maintenance management tool.
  • Reviews completed work orders for completeness and accuracy, update and supervise updating of machinery history data in the CMMS system. Analyze historical data in order to take action to mitigate re occurring issues.
  • Assists Maintenance Manager in contractor qualification and performance management.
  • Generates reports to keep the maintenance management team informed of work progress and future work schedules. Keep informed of maintenance personnel vacation schedules.
  • Updates the CMMS system equipment including machinery data, machinery history, and spare parts lists.
  • Produces a weekly maintenance work schedule as well as a projected work schedule for the next three to four weeks. Using the CMMS system, forecast work force needs for equipment maintenance.
  • Drives and improves the workflow of work orders within the CMMS system. Analyze and track data to look for Continuous Improvement and cost saving opportunities.
  • Responsible for party & inventory maintenance budget.
  • Maintains vendor contact lists and assists Maintenance Manager with emergency resource contacts.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of experience in day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Five years plant maintenance experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Project management software experience.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems or similar software experience.
  • Industry vendor, contractor relationships and experience.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Manager Plus CMMS system.
  • Maintenance Experience in the Food Industry.
  • Food Industry experience in contractor project management work and Technical Food industry experience required.

Competencies

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to report out weekly progress using KPI’s to staff and Maintenance Personal

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
