SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS ROLE:

  • Promptly answers all incoming phone calls; assists in placing out-going calls as needed.

  • Monitors and responds to code phones and centralized fire panel alarms.

  • Ensures appropriate personnel, fire department, etc. are notified of code situations in timely manner.

  • Greets patients, family members, visitors, etc. exhibiting superior customer service skills.

  • Performs overhead paging as needed.

  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.

  • Follows policy and procedures regarding patient visitation.

  • Distributes incoming mail, supplies, facsimiles, and messages to appropriate staff and physicians.

  • Completes in-service and educational requirements in timely manner.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Associates Degree in Office Administration or other related field (preferred)

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous receptionist or clerical experience performed in a fast-paced work environment (preferred)

  • Previous experience operating switchboard or answering multiple telephone lines (preferred)

  • Familiarity with medical terminology (preferred)

HOURS:

  • PRN (hours vary based on coverage need for department)
  • 12 hour shifts
  • Rotating Weekends & Holiday coverage required
