Summary: The Front Desk Associate is responsible for the incoming and outgoing flow of patients during clinical and procedure visits with the provider.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greets patients and vendors immediately as they enter the office.
- Obtains and scans insurance card and government ID into GMED.
- Maintains cleanliness and upkeep of the patient lobby/waiting area.
- Prepares and reconciles daily deposits and petty cash.
- Responsible for timely and accurate recording of patient demographics, insurance information, and any other required information.
- Obtains signed forms/authorizations from the patient to protect the practice's interests.
- Receives payments and posts to account.
- Address patient balances and coordinate payment plans.
- Answers inbound calls within three rings and fulfills patient requests.
- Provides excellent customer service at all times and demonstrates a commitment to quality of care.
- Prepares charts for next-day appointments, scanning of patient documents, filing pathology (where applicable).
- Verify insurance eligibility prior to the visit.
- Verify and confirm appointments.
- Schedules follow up appointments upon check out.
- Procedure weekly count, email schedule to Anesthesia company weekly (where applicable).
- Travel and provide coverage at other locations as needed.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of CPT coding, ICD10 codes, and Medical Terminology.
- Upholds the CDHA mission by actively contributing to the achievement of organizational goals, supporting leadership, promoting unity, and teamwork for the benefit of patients.
- Maintains a clear focus on patient safety in every interaction with every patient.
- Adheres to all industry standards related to infection control, patient confidentiality, and regulatory and accrediting body's requirements (i.e. HIPAA, OSHA, and AAAHC).
- Follow and comply with all safety policies.

Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). * One to three years of related experience and/or training. * Maintains knowledge, skills, and abilities through ongoing education. * Completes all mandatory reviews/educational required and assigned. * Participates in performance improvement activities. * Is actively committed to meeting/exceeding employee expectations/satisfaction in the performance of job functions. * Maintains compliance with all laws and applicable regulatory requirements. Acts promptly to comply with required changes.
