Overview:***This position will work from home once trained.***
The Medical Billing Specialist - Insurance Verifier will complete verification of insurance benefits and proper account maintenance to ensure appropriate bill production. Process all required Pseudo billing per the EPIC workflow to ensure timely filing deadline is captured on pending Medicaid accounts.

Salary: Annual $29,120 (Hourly: $14.00)Responsibilities:
  • Processes accounts daily in all assigned work queues in EPIC and ensures information is entered accurately in order to obtain claimes for the appropriate payers.
  • Reviews report of billed accounts in an insurance financial class without an open claim, to determine and resolve potential problems and ensure each account is stated in the appropriate financial class.
  • Reviews returned claims and verifies correct data elements that will faciliatate processing of the claim.
  • Works accounts in a thorough and accurate manner. Account memos shall be clearn and concise.
  • Meets departmental productivity standards on a monthly basis.
  • Reviews correspondence and takes action as appropriate to update the patient account record, both current and historical and insure the accurate production of claims.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus three (3) years of experience in a health-care revenue cycle related function.
  • Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • EPIC experience.
