Medical Assistant

Location

This is a float position that will travel to the following Sharp-Rees Stealy clinics: Santee, La Mesa Grossmont Medical Plaza, and Otay Ranch.

Hours

Per Diem - Days Variable Shifts Monday-Friday (Start times between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM)

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or Navy Hospital Corps School with proof of completion of Medical Assistant Certification
• Current AHA BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
• One to three years of Medical Assistant experience in a related clinical setting
• Computer and keyboarding skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexible and have a strong sense of teamwork

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Ambulatory care/Physician office experience
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• Hospital Corpsman

Summary

The Medical Assistant will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide patient care assistance to defined patient population. This position will work closely with the physician to manage panel of patients and ensure a smooth patient flow and clinic operation.

Position responsibilities will include answering messages, returning phone calls, placing patients in exam rooms, preparing patients for exams, assisting with clinical procedures.
