Medical Assistant

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma
• Certificate from Medical Assistant Training Program

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Venipuncture
• Triage patients
• Take and record vital signs
• Obtain urine specimens and blood tests as directed
• Report problems/observations to Nurse Manager
• Assist Podiatrist in procedures, lab orders, sterilizing equipment.
• Prepare patients for physician exam and assist practitioner as necessary.
• Assure that specimens are properly labeled, recorded and collected by laboratory.
• Enter Lab order via EMR
• Prepare patients for physician exam
• Answer phone, take and deliver messages
• Obtain and send referrals
• Set up and stock rooms prior to session
• Clean and restock area at the end of session
• Other duties/tasks as directed by Nurse Manager
• Manage inventory
• MS Office, Excel, EClinical works proficiency a plus!
