Do you see yourself as a part of this life-changing work? If so, we are currently seeking a qualified and motivated professional for the following position: Military Services Master's Clinical Counselor

The Ideal Military Services Master's Clinical Counselor is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment of persons seeking professional help for mental health and co-occurring issues. This includes initial assessments, diagnosing, triage/crisis counseling, and individual therapy. Master's Level Clinicians may make referrals to services that each consumer is eligible for as clinically appropriate, triage consumers who may present in crisis, and work within a team approach to ensure access to services is efficient and appropriate at each level of care. Masters Level Clinicians maintain a therapy caseload of adults and children.

COMPENSATION: Starting salary for this position is approximately $42,980 based on relevant experience and education.

Schedule: This position has a regular schedule of Monday - Friday 8a.m. until 5p.m. There is no on-call for this position and employee is off on Center designated holidays. In person daily attendance is essential for this position except in instances of approved time off.

Travel: Position does not require routine travel or transportation of clients. Some minimal travel may occur for off-site training opportunities or outreach efforts.

Equipment/Technology: Position is required to enter clinical information into electronic medical records software. Position requires frequent use of telephone and intermittent use of telehealth software platform (camera/speakers).

QUALIFICATIONS - Military Services Master's Clinical Counselor

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited college of university with a Master's Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or other related field of study.
  • Eligible for certification and licensure by the State of Tennessee if such exists or his/her degree/profession.
  • Licensed preferred.

Experience / Knowledge:

  • Must have course work and or experience in the areas of psychopathology, counseling, theory, cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of alcohol and drug abuse and mental illness.
  • One year experience preferred.
  • Veterans and those with military experience preferred.

Physical:

  • Minimal exposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal and soft tones.
  • Close eye work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbal de-escalation techniques.
  • Applicants should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
  • Applicants should possess the ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, educational levels, and economic circumstances with respect and dignity.
  • Effective communication skills, strong time management, and organizational skills are necessary to manage day to day job responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills are necessary in order to work effectively and collaboratively with clients, collaborating agencies, and community professionals, as well as maintaining proper documentation.
  • Clinical staff members must possess reliable transportation, the ability to acquire an F endorsement on driver's license, and transport clients.
