Job Description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for managing data maintenance/quality for critical master data such as products, retail product hierarchy and case upc versions, through significant coordination of Sales, Customer Support, Warehousing, Transportation, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Planners, and Brand Operation Managers. In addition, this position will provide production support for data management team through analysis, problem solving and technical troubleshooting when data quality issues are detected and then solved by coordinating and delivering corrective and sustained actions. This includes issue resolution from workflow exceptions and interface failures. This position requires strong communication and technical understanding due to the many systems that master data reaches, work with global and regional MDM teams, support global & regional projects as required, data migrations for acquisitions & take appropriate action for divestitures.

This position requires decisions to be made and implemented that resolve data conflicts by application of knowledge of industry standards, data management policies and subject matter expertise to resolve data conflicts through sustained solutions. This position is involved in project work supporting DMO initiatives, support to Corporate initiatives within the Supply Chain and training to respective groups/team/individuals for all the above activities.

Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for being the Subject Matter Expert in SAP and MDM data processes and procedures. Lead Master data system implementations in North America.

  • Guide and assist the MDM offshore team. Provides backup coverage at meetings requiring MD representation. Development of interface recommendations where applicable, involvement in Project Work supporting MD.

  • Takes the lead for creation of documentation for all internal MD business processes and for the development and maintenance of master-data creation error root-cause.

  • Responsible for issue resolution and decision making for all Master Data inquiries.

  • Assists in leading, developing, and providing in-depth training to the SAP Master Data Providers on tools developed by the GMMD/PLM project to simplify the Master Data Collection and population into SAP.

  • Understand processes for creation of Retail Product Hierarchy and Case UPC maintenance, the ability to troubleshoot issues that arise with this data. Ability to review and determine issues prior to assignment and the communication skills necessary to communicate back to business.

Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Logistics or Supply Chain.

  • 1-4 years of relevant increasing responsibility of Data Management, Demand/Supply chain processes

  • Knowledge of GS1 standards and Best Practices

  • Understand integrated systems, including desktop computer applications (this includes AMPS, SAP, PLM and GMMD, as well as Access and Excel). SQL knowledge for DspMonitor Reporting is a plus.

This position requires a super user level of expertise for SAP systems and data elements maintained within Master Data. This position requires someone with strong interpersonal skills that can manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. This person must work well under pressure and be an effective communicator who can champion Master Data to outside users.
