Manufacturing Technician

Job Purpose:

Sanmina is looking for an ambitious person to fill a Manufacturing Technician position in our Clean Room and Manufacturing Operations in Austin, TX. This person will perform a variety of tasks, including electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies.


Nature of Duties

  • Ability to read and follow instructions dictated in OMS and/or assembly drawings
  • Position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
  • Assemble parts or units, and position, align and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies or frames, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Connect cables, tubes, and wiring, according to specifications.
  • Read assembly drawings and specifications to determine component parts and assemble sequences of electromechanical units.
  • Package and/or pack assemblies per clean room protocols.
  • File, lap, and buff parts and subassemblies using grease paddles or oilcans.
  • Utilize programs for attendance and work order tracking.
  • Work in a clean room environment and follow clean room guidelines
  • Follows and provides feedback on assembly instructions and/or blueprints to install items such as; hardware, wiring harnesses, panels, components, sub-assemblies, etc.
  • Attach name plates and mark identifying information on parts
  • Operate small cranes to transport or position large parts.
  • Follow standard workmanship practices for electro-mechanical assembly.

Education and Experience

  • High School-Associate Degree
  • Must have a 2 - 3 years experience as an assembler/manufacturing technician
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to verbally communicate
  • Must be able to observer and hear warning signs and signals within all areas of the company.
  • Qualified candidate must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
