Satellite Communications Solution Architect

The Satellite Communications Solution Architect is responsible and accountable for driving efficient, scalable, flexible solutions architecture through our well-defined development and engineering facing processes. The resulting solutions must leverage cost effective technologies, which are part of our frameworks and roadmaps as well as 3rd parties to ensure that the business goals are met. The Solution Architect must provide all documentation and design required for various phases of customer engagement: from conceptual discussion presentations through commercial solution descriptions and RFP detailed responses and plans. The design must be easily transferred to the engineering team from development through test and maintenance.

As part of this function, the Solution Architect will interface to Sales leads as well as Client Sales leads to ensure that our customer engagement and proposal process is proceeding on time and with quality deliverables. This position will also interface to the Engineering team as well as other Solution Architects leads to ensure that all customer requirements are included and accounted for. A well-defined process between all entities must be followed to ensure complete coverage of the solution.

  • Ensure proper execution of our technical responses and commitments to our customers
  • Ensure appropriate level of non-functional requirements are accounted for in the solution description and service offering.
  • Ensure that all technology components leveraged are part of technology roadmap, frameworks and Engineering and Design capabilities.
  • Ensure that Engineering teams are providing thorough and detailed development plans for customer solutions and bid responses.
  • Review and Accept or Reject designs from the design and Engineering team based on best practices and architectural principles, processes and methodologies
  • Ensure that solutions are comprehensive and complete regarding content, non-functional and customer requirements
  • Include any 3rd party external components in the solution in line with our customer offering.
The Solution Architect must have significant experience and knowledge in CSP (Telco) Architecture as it is a significant part of Capgemini Engineering’s services offering. The candidate should also be experienced in various aspects of Enterprise Architecture generic (non-vertically specific) software design principles, key technologies and design processes including Agile and SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).

Specific and detailed knowledge of BSS solution design, API integration Patterns like Kong and orchestration technologies like Kafka Framework and experience in developing and integration Microservices based Architecture is a must.
The Solutions Architect will also be responsible for:

  • Ensuring Solution can meet customer requirements in content, timeline and cost
  • Bringing together Engineering team leads to analyse and commit to proposal responses
  • Providing risk assessment and mitigation recommendations for customer solution commitments and program plan
  • Developing repeat business by understanding client context, upselling and cross-selling; Developing Business Case and ROI; Providing strategic inputs to shape the client value proposition and creating winning pitches
  • Structuring and shaping deals for Value, leveraging, and providing input on Capgemini Engineering offerings, services, capabilities
  • Researching, mapping, establishing, developing and maintaining strong relationships with prospects and client team members
  • Planning and preparing for client interactions and outcomes (pre-call, post call)

Required Skills and Experience:
You have a leading role in projects with strong client exposure. You are responsible for functional and technical guidance over the whole project or application lifecycle and you act as a client-facing lead developer. You drive sales opportunities within your area of responsibility. You know future developments in several applications and/or technologies and you are seen as subject matter expert within your unit and beyond.
  • Qualification: 9-13 years (3 years min relevant experience in the role) experience, Bachelor’s Degree.
