THE POSITION:

The Manager of Project Controls leads a team of Cost and Scheduling Professionals working directly with the Project Execution Team to ensure successful execution of all NGS portfolio projects (Combined Cycle, Simple Cycle, COGEN Steam Turbine, Hydrogen, etc.). Expanding the use and reporting from SAP, Unifier and P6 to provide a best?in?class Project Controls suite of tools is a primary focus of this role.


Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Leads the development of the Project Controls Team.
  • Designs and implements new process, procedures and reporting to improve business practices and project execution.
  • Serves as a leader of everything associated with project Cost and Schedule.
  • Provides the Vision for the Project Controls Team to adapt to new projects, new scopes of work and differing contracting methods.
  • Ensure Project Controls Team provide work products in a timely manner to provide customer and senior management required information and reports as needed.
  • Develops the framework for periodic reviews of the execution schedule/cost, critical paths/cost impacts, project risk/contingency, and project cash flow. Provides timely escalation of concerns and identifies future project concerns.
  • Provides guidance and oversight for project planning, setup and monitoring of the project systems and effective project/portfolio reporting.
  • Maintains strong working relationships within the Project Execution Team.
  • Provides claims support through development of Cost and Schedule (“as?built” schedules) studies.
  • Sets policy for the quality control/assurance of Project Controls databases and reports and ensures team members adhere to the policy as they execute projects to meet contractual obligations.
  • Collaborates with Engineering and Supply Chain Leadership in developing requirements for and the implementation of new Engineering, Project Management and Procurement tools.
  • Perform other such duties as assigned.
  • Must have experience with commercial terms and conditions, contracts review and negotiation, and able to coordinate both contract formation as well as contract execution activities with legal personnel.
  • Familiar with Equipment only contracts, EPC contracts, and LTSA contracts
  • Familiar with cash flow, payment terms, performance guarantees, LDs, etc.
  • Should be eager to learn, self-motivated and able to function effectively with minimum support
  • Must be sensitive and perform effectively in a multicultural environment

EDUCATION:

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year ABET accredited college or university plus ten (10) years’ experience with an EPC firm, combustion/steam turbine OEM or Energy Provider.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills: Hands?on usage of SAP, Primavera Unifier, Primavera P6, Power BI, database, spreadsheet and word processing software; development of graphics, technical diagrams and flow charts.
