The M&A Finance team is part of the core cross-functional team that supports PayPal’s M&A activity led by Corporate Development. The M&A Finance team is primarily responsible for financial due diligence and analysis for all acquisitions and minority investments, as well as coordination of integration activities performed by other M&A Finance workstreams including Tax, Treasury, Business Unit Finance, and Finance Systems.

Job Description:

The M&A Finance Manager role within this team is responsible for driving and managing acquisition activities as it relates to all components of the Finance organization under the CFO. This role is a high visibility role that requires the ability to lead several process workstreams through explorations, gap analysis, integration planning, execution, and problem solving. The ability to work collaboratively with workstream leads and subject matter experts to arrive at risk-based approaches related to tactical execution steps is required.

An ideal candidate for this role would possess the following skills/experience:

  • Background in identifying finance related risks and partnering with cross functional teams to mitigate the identified risks

  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously

  • Mindset to proactively engage, evaluate and drive resolution of potential conflicts between various Finance and non-Finance functions

  • Ability to discuss finance/accounting concepts with others across the organization

  • Ability to lead and drive execution of plans and to influence where you do not have direct authority through strong interpersonal skills

  • Comfort with problem solving and creative solutioning

  • Knowledge of critical finance systems, processes and internal controls

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


  • 4+ years of accounting/finance experience

  • Big 4 experience a plus

  • CPA a plus

  • Comfortable working with diverse teams in multiple locations
