Manager, KYC Quality, Controls & Reporting

The Commercial Know Your Customer (KYC) Fulfillment team is responsible for ensuring that the Commercial Bank meets Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rules as dictated by regulations. The manager will have in-depth knowledge of AML and KYC programs, regulations, standards and compliance requirements and apply them to new and existing clients. They will manage a team of Quality Control Specialists, who serve as an internal checkpoint for KYC cases. This work includes interpreting documents based on corporate/legal formation documentation and structures in order to extract relevant customer information, verifying KYC processes & controls were followed appropriately, and assisting in monitoring KYC performance via reports & control reviews. In addition, the team also will research, consult with compliance and bankers, escalate, address unresolved issues and manage information in the system of record.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a leader who can inspire a team to meet a common goal. Passion for development and strategy as well as providing support/coaching within a fast-paced work environment is critical to success within this role.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead team of five KYC Quality Control Specialists, supporting development and engagement

  • Monitor performance metrics, provide feedback and follow performance management practices

  • Work with KYC team leaders to identify escalations & resolve root cause problems

  • Partner with peers daily to assess overall needs and adjust priorities accordingly to assure team’s overall success.

  • Produce reports, analyze data and metrics, populate visual management dashboards for KYC processes & performance management

  • Follow well managed practices & ensure procedures are maintained

  • Manage KYC control suite effectiveness and implement improvement plans, including reviewing controls for automation opportunities or other enhancements

  • Ensure policies, procedures and controls are followed resulting in consistent adherence to requirements to pass audits and exams,

  • Collaborate with Risk/AML partners to improve the interaction and provide a clear vision allowing the KYC team to understand upstream and downstream processes


Work at Home Technology Requirements:

  • A secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions

  • A reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by using cellular data (hot spot)

    • Cable or fiber connections are preferred

    • Internet service download speeds must be at least 5 mbps, with 10+ mbps preferred - check your download speed using a speed test. A sample one can be found here. To test your home internet from your personal computer at home, type www.speedtest.net into the web browser of your personal computer.

    • Sustained ability to maintain latency less than 250 ms in voice calls is required

  • Hard wired connectivity is preferred, any use of wireless connectivity must be Private (non-public) and password protected through WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption. If you have any questions about your encryption, please consult with your internet provider

    • A private network is password protected where you have ownership or line of sight to every device on the network

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in Commercial banking

  • At least 2 years of people management


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Commercial banking

  • At least 3 years of experience in KYC

  • At least 1 year of project management or process management experience

  • At least 1 year of experience building reports
