Job Description
Infrastructure Services and Operational Support (ISOS) organization solves problems associated with scaling Facebook’s data center and network space. We are seeking an experienced manager to lead the ISOS Network Tooling team. This is a team of Technical Project Managers that lead internal facing platform development initiatives that enable Network Infrastructure teams to deploy, operate, and manage at Facebook’s scale. The ideal candidate is someone who has managed people, has led internal platform development initiatives, creates strong partnerships, and thrives in a highly cross-functional environment. 10% national and international travel required.
  • Work with your team to align programs to large strategic infrastructure objectives and big bets and ensure they understand the big picture and goals
  • Empower your team to work with the various teams in a matrix organization to design and develop scalable solutions that meet the goals and objectives of our infrastructure data center and network engineering teams
  • Be responsible for people management of a team of 5 to 8 individual contributors and/or managers, that deliver on multiple projects or programs across regions or business groups
  • Provide performance reviews, continual feedback, coaching and career growth
  • Focus on growing and building a strong, productive, and satisfied team
  • Use and identify where and how tooling solutions will aid with streamlining and scaling the process
  • Manage the resource allocation and team optimization for effective service delivery

  • Experience supporting technical teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of work experience in technical program or product management
  • Experience translating strategic initiatives into roadmaps, defining processes and driving operations and execution
  • 4+ years experience managing a technical team of direct reports
  • Experience collaborating with different individuals across the organization, within other geographies in order to accomplish all necessary tasks
  • Experience Identifying and manage partnership opportunities with internal cross-functional partners
  • Experience across all phases of the Software Delivery Lifecycle
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams
  • Experience in translating technical concepts into language for audiences, including software engineers, business and technical leaders
  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field
  • Software development experience as a developer and/or manager
  • Technical infrastructure management and/or Data Center experience
  • Web or Internet start-up environment experience
  • 8+ years experience managing a team of employees, including managing managers
