To plan, direct and develop effective communications strategies for major corporate plans and programs.

The position will be repsonsible for managing internal productions through the FedEx Studios with a team that develops content for internal usage as well as supporting external broadcasts with executives. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for development of content that supports key initivies identified through the News Engine process to build and protect the FedEx Brand and Reputation. This content will be used across various channels including video, social, infographics, etc.Position Summary & Essential Duties:

The Content Development team drives consistent and intentional storytelling across communications channels to support the business and enhance the FedEx reputation. The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for developing content to be shared in both internal and external channels and this content will be shared across earned and owned communications channels, including internal FedEx channels, about.fedex.com, social and traditional media. The team is responsible for managing internal production studios along with the editorial content development supporting the broader enterprise. Focus on ensuring that content is relevant to key audiences while achieving communications objectives across channels.

The role requires experience with production both intenally and externally, a data-driven mindset and constant collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Team members work collaboratively with other teams and agencies to measure and analyze performance, shape content and campaign strategies, produce photo/video and written assets, and ensure content is socialized and approved by necessary stakeholders. Team members also work extensively with key executives to develop messaging specific to their organizaitons.

  • Proven experience in leading groups, outside of your own team, to collectively plan and effectively execute a program or project
  • Social media content development and scheduling experience across multiple platforms
  • Proven experience in developing and producing impactful content for internal and external audiences/channels
  • Ability to review complex data and present findings in a clear, actionable way
  • Strong problem solving, organization, communication and time management skills
  • Proven ability to produce high quality work, especially in communication materials (emails, presentations, guides, etc.)
  • Proven copy writing and editing skills

Skills/Knowledge Considered a Plus:

  • In depth knowledge of story development in support of key corporate initiatives and strategy.
  • Experience managing production both in studio as well as externally.
  • Technical expertise around all ares of production including camera, editing, post-production, etc.
  • Ability to apply and utilize analytics in decision making.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing a team in achieving their objectives and delivering results.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in journalism or communications or related field. Five (5) years directly related experience in developing internal and/or external communications. Experience in analysis, creative concepts, measurement tasks, development tasks, writing, editing, directing, producing and scheduling. Strong basic management, human relations and communications skills. More advanced degrees may offset experience requirements. A related Master’s Degree equals two years experience.
