Job Description
Overview:

Maintenance Repair / Install / Inspection of all plant equipment

Responsibilities:
  • Perform all maintenance safely and efficiently.
  • Perform maintenance to all conveyors and other plants equipment including but not limited to pumps, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes and wear items.
  • Inspection of all plant equipment to ensure equipment is being monitored and help plan scheduled repairs through plant management groups.
  • Safe operation of mobile equipment as needed, such as forklifts, loaders, man lift and service trucks.
  • Utilize LO/TO/TO, WAH and all other Lafarge Safety controls while performing maintenance work.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.

Results/Accountabilities

  • Perform all work safely and efficiently in accordance with Lafarge Safety Policies. Follow instruction and complete tasks. Thorough Knowledge of Crushing equipment.
  • Perform all work safely using and efficiently in accordance with Lafarge Safety Policies. Follow instruction and complete tasks.
  • Thorough working knowledge of plant equipment and repairs needed while performing the job in a Safe work environment.
  • Proper Task training, Pre-trip and Safe Operation of all Lafarge equipment
  • Receive training and have a thorough understanding of the expectations while performing scope of work.
  • Enhance the safety culture of Lafarge by sitting in on Health & Safety meetings as well as participate in safety committees when delegated.
  • Internal controls providing reasonable assurance of effective and efficient operations, including actions to prevent and detect fraud and protect Company resources

Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience:

  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Plant Maintenance apprenticeship a plus but not required
  • Cement plant maintenance background

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully complete task with minimal direction
  • Thorough knowledge of heavy industry milling equipment (conveying systems, gearboxes, rotary dryer, ball mill, bucket elevator, etc)
  • Thorough knowledge of Cement plants operation
  • Ability to work alone or in a group setting
  • Ability to analyze complex mechanical repairs making critical decisions
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to complete task efficiently and safely
  • Ability to plan and prioritize projects
  • Ability to follow instruction
  • Must be able to operate plant equipment such as; forklift, man lift and service trucks.

Scope

This ideal candidate will maintain and monitor under the instruction of plant management all Cement plant equipment while working safely and efficiently. The position is a crucial role in contributing to the success of the business here in Seattle. There may be times where the ideal candidate may be asked to help contribute outside of his normal daily activities to ensure optimal plant performance such as plant clean up (shoveling) and or operation of heavy equipment if qualified.
